Normally I don’t post my savings on a regular basis because by the time I make it to the grocery store with or without the kids I’m pooped and moving on to other things. I’m sure those of you with multiple children know exactly what I’m talking about. However with the start of a new year I wanted to give my readers a breakdown of one of my shopping trips. So you have an idea of what it looks like and how I put my deals together.

Plus I’d really love to hear from you the readers about how much your saving, so feel free to post your pics and savings on my Facebook page and I’ll work on setting up a way for you to post your links directly on the site.

My goal every week is to try to get my shopping done on Thursday or Monday but something always seems to get in the way and it never happens.  Do you try to shop on the same day every week? I want to hear from you so be sure to leave a comment. I think it really helps for others to read what everyone else is doing.

When I sit down to plan a shopping trip I always survey the items I already have on hand and then I build my weekly meals around what I already have on hand and what’s on sale. I also consider breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks while I’m making my list.

My weekly budget is only $50 or $250 monthly. Some weeks I spend a little more and some a little less however I always spend no more than $250 total for the month.
